In this delightful scene, St. Nicholas is portrayed outdoors in the snow with a sack full of toys and gifts, as eager children look out from a window in anticipation. His crozier in hand and bishop’s miter highlight his role as shepherd of the Church, while the toys recall his legendary generosity to children. This page is especially effective for teaching about Advent traditions and the real saint behind Santa Claus. A wonderful activity for catechists, parents, and homeschoolers during December.
