Catholic Mass Bingo – A Fun, Faith-Filled Catechetical Resource

Looking for a fun and interactive way to teach children about Catholic liturgical objects? Catholic Mass Bingo is the perfect catechetical tool to make your students more confident and engaged at Mass. As they play, children will learn to recognize and understand sacred items—transforming the liturgy from something unfamiliar into something meaningful.

What’s Included:

  • 64-page PDF with everything you need to play
  • 54 Calling Cards with colorful illustrations of Catholic objects (primarily liturgical). Each card includes a short, easy-to-read definition that can be read aloud after the item is called
  • 30 Bingo Cards with Catholic images and words (both 1-per-page and 2-per-page formats)
  • Printable markers for covering squares

Color-Coded for Younger Learners:
The background color on each Calling Card matches the same color on the Bingo Cards. Children don’t just rely on the image or name—they can also use color recognition to reinforce learning.

Children Will Learn 54 Sacred Objects:
Advent Wreath, Altar, Altar Bells, Altar Candles, Altar Server, Ambo, Ambry, Aspergillum, Aspersorium, Baptismal Font, Baptismal Shell, Biretta, Book of the Gospels, Cassock, Chalice, Chasuble, Ciborium, Cincture, Collection Basket, Confessional, Corporal, Credence Table, Crosier, Crucifix, Cruets, Dalmatic, Deacon, Holy Oils, Holy Water Font, Host, Hymnal, Lavabo Set, Missal Stand, Miter, Monstrance, Mozzetta, Nun, Offering Box, Pallium, Palm Branches, Paschal Candle, Paten, Pew, Presider’s Chair, Priest, Pyx, Rosary, Sanctuary Lamp, Scapular, Stations of the Cross, Stole, Tabernacle, Thurible, Zucchetto.

How to Play:

  1. Give each player a Bingo Card
  2. Shuffle the 54 Calling Cards
  3. Decide the winning pattern (5 in a row, 4 corners, or full “Blackout”)
  4. The caller draws a card, names the object, reads the definition, and shows the picture
  5. Players cover the matching item on their cards with a marker
  6. The first to complete the pattern shouts “BINGO!”

Add excitement with small prizes like holy cards, saint medals, or stickers.

Teaching Tips for Catechists:

  • Pause to ask questions: Who remembers what the Tabernacle is used for? When do we light the Paschal Candle? Why is the chalice so important?
  • Encourage reflection: How would you feel if you were an altar server helping at Mass?

Game Variations:

  • Show & Tell: Bring real objects from the sacristy (or photos)
  • Review Mode: Use the Calling Cards later as flashcards
  • Callbacks: Refer back to earlier definitions to reinforce memory

Perfect for religious education classrooms, Catholic schools, parish family nights, and homeschool catechesis. This resource makes liturgical learning joyful, memorable, and faith-building.
